Hi, mate! First of all, welcome to MRO. I hope you have a great time here.
Unfortunately, you'll find that most MRO championships are based in Europe, so you might find their timetables unsuitable - unless you don't mind getting up ultra early. For instance, I race in MRO Zero. We race on Saturdays at 16:15 Spanish time, which would be 07:15 in California.
Oh, and most people in MRO championships are native Spanish or Portuguese speakers, so these are the most widely used languages. However, at least in MRO Zero there are a few American racers and so far, I think they're blending in quite well - if you have a doubt, you can ask in English and you'll get a reply in English as well.
If you'd like to race in MRO Zero, feel free to stop by http://zero.miniracingonline.com. I could talk to you about other championships but the other ones I know about take place from Monday to Friday at night, which would be about midday in California. If you work or study, these times are probably impractical for you. Anyway, just drop me a line if you want any more information!
Oh, and again, welcome to MRO! I'm looking forward to meeting you on the track sometime.
